What We Do

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy: Ms. Polizzi-Walker offers one-on-one therapy for children 12 months to school age. Sessions focus on the child’s individual speech and language needs in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment. Patti offers diagnostic services prior to therapy, develop goals based on our continued assessment, and then modify and develop new goals as the children successfully attain them. Ms. Polizzi-Walker uses a variety of toys, play materials, tools and approaches to address each child’s speech, oral motor, language, pragmatic, and social-emotional needs. Homework assignments further assist with treatment in home and school environments.

Parental involvement is crucial to success. As a result, we invite and encourage parents to take part in their child’s sessions, particularly those of younger children. The therapist provides parents with helpful information and fully supports them so that they can continue to foster their child’s developing speech and language skills at home.

Patti is available to accompany families to individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and team meetings with other professionals and can be hired to mentor aides, babysitters, and other family members in facilitating speech, language, and social pragmatic skills for the child.

Individual sessions last from 30 minutes to an hour and take place at the office Mondays through Thursdays, by appointment.
